In the last 7 years I have been coloring my hair on a regular basis. It gives me a richer color than my natural hair and I started getting little gray hairs here and there and I’m not about to let that start showing!
Now that I’ve gotten a little older, I have noticed my hair getting thinner, drier and just unhealthy. It’s really a number of things. I’m older and perimenopause has kicked in. One of the many sucky symptoms of that is thinner hair. Grrrr. But my hair has gotten more unhealthy and I know that the coloring and flat ironing do play a part in that.
I decided to go to Sally’s and try the products they have there. After doing some chatting with one of the women who worked there she steered me in the direction of Age Beautiful by Zotos for hair color. I used the 3N (darkest brown) cream permanent hair color and used it with Salon Care 20 Volume Crème. She was very helpful and had a lot of good information.
People say this brand pulls darker but the 3N was spot on to the swatch and the color I wanted. I usually buy the Revlon Colorsilk in the Brown/Black color. This was easy to mix and put on my hair. I also noticed the smell was more mild than the store bought brands. I left it on for 35 and then shampoo/conditioned my hair. My hair feels soft, is shiny and the color looks fab. I’m sold.
I’ve heard time and time again that the store-bought brands are bad for your hair. When I had younger, healthier hair I didn’t listen because it was cheap and easy. But I won’t be using those anymore.
